We are located on the spectacular Colvend Coast, a hidden and beautiful region of Dumfries & Galloway in South West Scotland. Only around one hour's drive from Carlisle and the M6, we are easily reached but completely 'away from it all'. Our luxury holiday home is ideally sited within a private holiday park in this area of National Scenic Beauty.
Abundant wildlife & nature can be found on your doorstep; including red squirrels, deer, pheasants, badgers, birdlife etc. From the ‘forest to the beach’ the surrounding countryside makes it ideal for the outdoor enthusiast, or for those seeking a relaxing and peaceful holiday. Plenty of exploring to keep youngsters amused too, at no cost to the parents!
Enjoy the 10 minute walk down to the stunning Kippford village waterfront with its Yachting Marina, 2 pubs, gift shop, RNLI station & shop. Along the Colvend Coast there are wonderful walks, with numerous rocky & sandy coves, safe for bathing and enjoying the warm waters of the Gulf Stream. Sandyhills being the largest and most popular beach is only 3 miles away. From Kippford at low tide, you can walk out to Rough Island, a bird sanctuary owned by the National Trust (access restricted at certain times of the year). Alternatively, you can take the Jubilee Path - a leisurely and interesting coastal walk to the nearby picturesque village of Rockcliffe.
Inland, there are many woodland walks and forest trails to enjoy on foot or by bicycle. The adjacent Dalbeattie Forest boasts a world class Mountain Bike trail (part of the 7Stanes network).
Visitors are welcomed at numerous golf courses in the area, including the 9-hole ‘pay & play’ course at Craigieknowes - just across the road!
On a clear night marvel at the dark sky with its spectacular vista of twinkling star and planets.
