Walks
There are various walks in and around Kippford, from lovely coastal walks, managed woodland walks to marked forest trails. The Jubilee Path being the most popular scenic coastal walk between Kippford and Rockcliffe. Details of local walks etc are provided in the holiday home.

Mountain Biking
“Spend a while in Scotland’s Biking Heaven!” Marked mountain bike trails for all levels of ability in the local Dalbeattie forest. Indeed one of the famous world class ‘7stanes’ biking centres is on our doorstep. Bring your own, or bikes can be hired locally. Secure storage for bicycles can be provided nearby. 7Stanes website

Bird Watching
The RSPB reserve at Mersehead, 6 miles along the coast, is a delight to see at any time of year. Ideal for a leisurely walk - enjoy the wildlife & breathtaking scenery. Check their website for more infomation.

Golfing
Visitors are welcome at all the local golf courses (16 golf courses within 20 miles). Directly across the road is Craigieknowes 9 hole course which is open to all. Three miles along the coast is Colvend 18 hole golf course. Check their website for more infomation.

Sailing
The Solway Yacht Club in Kippford has its own clubhouse and marina. It has a temporary membership scheme for visiting dingy sailors and provides excellent facilities. Check their website for more infomation.

Towns

Dalbeattie is 3 miles, and ideal for purchasing all provisions. It has a range of small privately owned shops, banks and post office. Visit the Dalbeattie website
